Add The Resource Navigator® to a Page

The Resource Navigator® may be installed on any page on the SiteConnex™ website template. The Resource Navigator can be customized to have fields turned on or off, or even pre-searched, all based on the settings found under the Resource Views.

By default, each Resource Navigator has the Homepage Resource Navigator Search Widget and Default Resource Navigator (Full) Resource Views that you can use.  In general, The Resource Navigator works by rendering the Shortcode associated with a Resource View on a given page. Each Resource View may be placed on one (or multiple) pages, and any edit to a Resource View will impact every place where that Resource View Shortcode has been placed.

Add the default* Resource Navigator Resource View to a page

  1. Click on SourceLink from the left hand menu
  2. Select All Resource Views from the sub-menu option
  3. Click on Default Resource Navigator (Full) from the table
  4. Copy the Shortcode (e.g. resource_view id=”xyz”)
  5. Edit the page you wish to place The Resource Navigator
  6. Insert a Text Block, paste the Shortcode in the content area
  7. Save/Publish the page

*Please note that this same process may be used for any other Resource Views you create.

Create a custom Resource Navigator Resource View

  1. Click on SourceLink from the left hand menu
  2. Select All Resource Views from the sub-menu option
  3. Click on the ‘Add Resource Views’ button at the top of the page

  5. Under General Settings, pick a desired View Type (Search w/ Full Directory is the standard Resource Navigator)
  6. Set desired settings under the Search Filters (you can Set Default Value, Enable/Disable, and/or Require each field); When Set Default Value is checked, please select the desired value from the drop down directly under the name of the field. You may also change the order of any field by clicking on the field and dragging it to the desired position.
  7. Set any Additional Settings and Detail and Update Page Settings
  8. Click Update from the top right
  9. Copy and place the Shortcode on a page (same process as the instructions above)

On every Resource Navigator Resource View, users can add Header and Footer Code

  • Under Header Code, enter the HTML below and customize the values that have the pound or hashtag symbol followed by six digit numbers to your desired color choice (hex color). These settings impact properties like the button and text colors.
