Often, your resource partners will have recurring events that happen the same day of the week, every week, 1 Million Cups is a great example of this.  Your resource partners cannot create recurring events, only you as an administrator have this capability.

Here are the steps to create a new recurring event.
  • Go to the backend of your site and login
  • Click --> Content --> Events
  • Click on the 'Create an Event' button
  • Just below Summary, select how often you would like the event to repeat (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly); see image below
  • When finished entering all of your event details, click on the 'Publish' button at the bottom of the page to save your event
Important Notes
Recurring events will always display “Next Occurrence: date and time” where events show the date and time. This allows a user who is viewing an older event that has already passed the ability to view upcoming occurrences.

Only one unique URL is created for a recurring event. This allows you to share the same URL in a variety of places and the web visitor will always see the next occurrence.

Modifying Recurring Events

Modifying only the recurrence information (date and time)
  • Go to the backend of your site and login
  • Click --> Content --> Events and then open the recurring event
  • Modify the recurrence rule
  • When finished modifying the information, click on the 'Publish' button at the bottom of the page to save your event

Modifying event information other than date and time
All occurrences of a recurrent event share every detail other than date and time, if you need to change anything other than date and time information for a particular occurrence, you will need to create two addiitonal events.
